Laura H. Betts is a Breathing Gas System Specialist, Professional Educator and the President of HyperbaricsRx.
She is a Multi-Agency Certified Instructor, an ANDI Instructor Trainer, Certified Hyperbaric Technician and Certified Hyperbaric Chamber Operator. She holds additional technician certifications from a long list of equipment manufacturers. HyperbaricsRx’ offerings include Hyperbaric Systems, Consulting and Training for individuals, clinics and medical facilities.
Laura’s career began in the early 1980’s where she was part of an elite group of optimal breathing gas technology pioneers. She was one of the youngest and one of the first in the world to successfully apply proprietary algorithms on extended range mixed-gas open circuit scuba dives. The custom equipment systems and procedures created to accomplish the extreme operational logistics of these dive profiles would later become the worldwide industry standard thus revolutionizing technical diving.
Her extensive experience in acclimation to pressurization and breathing apparatus enables her to easily transition patients to hyperbaric therapy. She actively shares these techniques as part of the ANDI Hyperbaric Course Curriculum, which she co-authored and helped implement throughout the ANDI Training Organization worldwide.
A professional educator since 1989, she is internationally certified to teach a variety of specialized programs including multiple-levels of ANDI Hyperbaric Courses to individuals, technicians and physicians. Laura has personally worked with hundreds of families in the successful application of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for their special needs children, injured, disabled or chronically ill family members. Her confidential client relationships also include professional athletes, athletic organizations, A List Celebrities and other elite performers.
Because of her unique combination of specialized knowledge and experience paired with a personal touch of compassion and understanding, she is a retained consultant for Hyperbaric Medical Facilities, Fire Rescue Companies, Scuba Industry Professionals and Charitable Organizations. She has consulted on special projects of all sizes encompassing moderate to extreme field applications.
Laura has also had her own personal experiences with hyperbarics and contributes her health today a direct result. She is devoted to increasing the awareness of the extensive potential applications and benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy while furthering accessibility of the modality.
